DMS 803 Goniometer Systems For Complete Display Characterization

Instrument Systems DMS 803 offers optimum convenience for angle-dependent electrooptical characterization of small to mid-size displays of any kind (emissive, transmissive, reflective or transflective displays).

It is based on a fully motorized 6-axis goniometer for determining luminance, contrast, and color properties at different viewing angles and variable electrical driving. The measurement system is perfectly suitable for all applications in research and development, as well as quality control.

The comprehensive range of illumination devices and temperature-control chambers makes the DMS 803 an ideal system for determining the characteristics of displays for mobile applications (e.g. smartphones or tablet PCs).

Measurements

  • Angular scan: variation of luminance, contrast and chromaticity with viewing direction for evaluation of directional uniformities and BRDF
  • Area scan: scanning of display surface area for lateral uniformity evaluation
  • EOC: variation of luminance, contrast and chromaticity with electrical driving for evaluation of EOTF-characteristics (e.g. gamma)
  • Transients: luminance versus time for e.g. response time evaluation
  • Reflectance characteristics under diffuse and directional illumination
  • Customer specific measurements defined with DCI scripting sequences

  • Complete system with 6-axis positioner, with electrical control, photometer or spectrometer (optional), illumination sources, PC, and software
  • 3 motorized axes (inclination, azimuth, and height adjustment of the measuring head)
