The Rhopoint IQ 20/60 is an advanced, handheld surface appearance meter that goes beyond standard gloss measurement. Operating as a portable goniophotometer, it profiles how light is reflected from a surface to quantify visual defects like “orange peel” and surface haze that standard gloss meters cannot detect.

In a single measurement, the Rhopoint IQ 20/60 captures:

• Dual-Angle Gloss (20°/60°): Standard specular gloss measurement for high-gloss (20°) and semi-gloss (60°) surfaces.
• Reflectance Haze: Measures the “milky” halo effect around light sources caused by microscopic surface defects or poor pigment dispersion.
• Distinctness of Image (DOI) & Reflected Image Quality (RIQ): Quantifies reflection sharpness and detects surface waviness or orange peel texture.
• RSPEC (Peak Gloss): Peak specular reflectance over a very narrow angle, identifying subtle changes in surface smoothness.
• Goniophotometric Profile: Displays a 2D curve profiling light reflection distribution across angles (17° to 27°).
